It's beginning to look like I'm never going to get to try out that new tool. This weekend I will be writing and ripping up the carpet in the laundry room.

My partner and I do not have a strong aversion to carpet, although a visitor to our house might believe otherwise. Sure, we have pulled up and not-replaced almost every bit of carpet in the house, but that's more because of our cat than anything.

Frau, the cat, seems to hate carpeting. Or maybe she loves it. I guess the truth lies in what a cat means when it pisses on something; is she claiming or disdaining?

So after removing the carpet from the guest room, the bedroom, two bathrooms, the dining room, the family room and the kitchen, there is only the laundry room and the living room left. I'm not worried about the living room. My partner keeps that room closed off to all of us.
