Despite the reason why I
have to be in Columbus late on Mondays and Wednesdays, I've grown to enjoy the routine. I leave work at 3 and motor over to the local
Panera Bread. There I am greeted by the friendliest counter person in the world: Debbie. She always has a smile and makes me feel genuinely welcome.
She's great!
If I order a cookie, she lets me know which ones just came out of the oven so I can have a still-warm one.
She's wonderful!!
Today we discussed scones and our experiences overseas. Debbie has become a mainstay of my week: one of the events that make up for the crap I have to deal with at work.
But I'm not going to discuss work today.
Once I have my food and am at my table, I like to write. Thanks to the unfortunate circumstance that has me late in Columbus I am making real progress on a novel. Maybe someday I'll post a few chapters, just for the hell of it. No one will read them.
No one reads this blahg.
Well, my soup is getting cold so I'm going to go now.
